GAME OF THRONES

Once you manage to get past the bloodcurdling opening scene of the series' pilot you're instantly hooked on the game of thrones. First, lets face it, because Ned Stark is so unusually manly that you're drawn to his story but later on, when he's - spoiler alert! - no longer in the game beheaded, because we cannot wait for him to be avenged mercilessly in the slowest way possible. But apart from the payback back time, there is another world in the series, the world where the costumes help to create the scene and mood.

And now it looks like the fashion from the realm crossed some borders and walked into our world - if you would judge by the fall winter 2014 runaways.

The north of the Wall seems to be very inspiring - the style of both the Night's Watch and the wildlings influenced the outerwear for fall and winter 2014 more or less literally:

The Night's Watch - fur, fur, fur

                         Vogue Paris April 2014                                                           Chanel fall/winter 2014

Vogue Japan July 2014                                                                                                   Alexander McQueen fall/winter 2014

Both pictures: Giorgio Armani Prive fall/winter 2014

The wildlings - camouflage fur

All: Alexander McQueen Fall/winter 2014

However, the residents of The Seven Kingdoms does not go unnoticed either and the style of the fancy ladies of the realm might be traced in fall/winter designs as well.

Cersei Lannister - look for the birdy motifs and rich embroidery

        Both Valentino fall/Winter 2014

                     Alberta Feretti fall/winter 2014                                                                      Rodarte fall/winter 2014

Sansa Stark - beautifully detailed, coat-like dresses made of heavy fabrics

                 Alberta Feretti fall/winter 2014                                                                     Dolce & Gabbana fall/winter 2014

Daenerys Targaryen - flowy, see-through dresses mixed with princess-warrior outfits

        Balmain fall/winter 2014

                  Both pictures: Valentino fall/winter 2014

Arya Stark and Brienne of Tarth - does super strong and inspiring female character deserve a space of their own but for the style purposes decided to put them together as they seem to combine different aspects of masculine warfare attire - one dress in leather, the other in steel and iron

All four above: Balmain fall/winter 2014

            All four: Dolce &Gabbana fall/winter 2014

Now it's up to you what style you want to join the game of thrones in this fall. And remember - the winter is coming ....
